Are you looking for flexible comms role that truly makes a difference in the world?  Our client is a humanitarian organisation based in Dubai currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced individual in the position of Marketing & Communications Manager.  They are a purpose-driven company, supplying shelter solutions, core relief items, multipurpose tents and, mobile storage units to UN agencies, NGOs and international organizations worldwide.

The Candidate

To join this forward-thinking, flexible team, we'd like to see the following:

Educated to degree level and evidence of further study and/or additional qualifications in marketing and/or communications
• At least 8 years’ experience of marketing and communications with a brand or brands of reputable standing
• A thorough understanding of effectively building the optimum marketing communications mix, including digital and social media channels
• The ability to develop content, both written contributions as well as multimedia productions
• Has a good understanding of corporate social responsibility practices and the ability to translate this strategy into valuable actions and partnerships
• A track record of proven delivery, demonstrating both creative, strategic and analytical skills
• The ability to manage projects with two or more stakeholders using a collaborative and professional approach and to operate well under pressure
• The ability to work independently and take decisions – but know when to seek guidance ‐ and deliver to deadlines
• Experience in managing budgets and maximizing their effectiveness
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills, highly organized and detail-oriented
• Must be able to develop and articulate succinct business rationale supporting recommendations
• Fluent written and spoken English – native speaker preferred.

The Role

The Marketing & Communications Manager is responsible for planning, developing and implementing the marketing communications strategy, building the corporate and product brand/s and engaging clients.  Here's what you'll be doing on a day to day basis:

Marketing and Communications

• Develop overall marketing, PR and communication strategy and ensure its proper planning and execution
• Ensure alignment of the department’s strategy and goals with the overall business objectives
• Ensure NRS Relief communicates consistently, accurately, professionally and in accordance with its core values and mission to all its stakeholders
• Ensure the management of marketing and communications programs, brand image, and product launches

• Manage all internal and external events with clients and/or employees.

Public Relations

• Strengthen the reputation and increase awareness  with all stakeholders
• Lead and coordinate public relations and press announcements by NRS Relief with business partners and clients.

Sustainability and Data analysis

• Drives the Corporate Social Responsibility strategy
• Is responsible for the reporting on and analyzing our sustainability performance
• Implementing sustainability initiatives and partnerships that enhance our performance across these spheres
• Conduct risk analyses and feasibility studies of prospective markets and ventures
• Identify and form partnerships 
• Manage the company’s engagement with UN Global Compact and other CSR networks.


• Ensure that all members of the marketing & communications team have clear roles, responsibilities, and goals
• Manage departmental performance and competencies; including staff development and recruiting
• Establish the Marketing & Communications budget to ensure appropriate and effective spend and report on its effectiveness
• Ensure departmental SOPs are established and followed
• Participate as required in corporate governance structures
• Establish performance benchmarks and metrics system for the department.
