Our Clients, United Women Singapore are looking for a fantastic self starter to help them engage members of the community through initiatives, events and activities related to women's empowerment and gender equality. 

United Women Singapore is a non-profit organisation that aims to advance and drive gender equality and women’s empowerment, and build a pipeline of women leaders and influencers in Singapore and the region. Its annual HeForShe Impact Awards recognises individuals and organisations who are active promoters of gender equality in the workplace and in their community. United Women Singapore works towards narrowing the gender inequality gap through it’s Girls2Pioneers (G2P) programme in Singapore, which encourages girls, aged 9-14 years, to take up STEM subjects in their higher education and careers, and thereby, pave the way for a more gender equal society. The programme reaches out to 4,500 girls each year.


The Candidate

United Women Singapore are looking for individuals who

• Team player who makes a difference to empower women in Singapore and the region

• Have strong organizational skills, able to prioritize time-sensitive tasks and multi-task

• Have aptitude for networking with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

• Have accuracy and strong attention to detail

• Able to materialize ideas into reality and ensure completion of tasks

• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure

• Meet legal requirements to work in Singapore: Singaporean/PR or DP holder

Prior non-profit experience and knowledge preferred, but not compulsory.

The Role

This role will have responsibility for Programmes & Outreach, raise awareness and advocacy as per United Women Singapore's mandate and to engage members of the community through initiatives, events and activities related to women’s empowerment and gender equality.

The Senior Associate – Programmes and Outreach is broadly responsible for:

Programmes and Outreach

• Assist in conceptualising and overseeing content creation for the outreach activities as per the organisation’s vision and mission

• Ensure the content is up-to-date, relevant and is abreast of developments and trends in the related fields

• Drive strategy & innovative pathways and building efficient processes to provide a more holistic approach to raising awareness around women’s empowerment and gender equality

• Work closely with a panel of leaders, academicians, researchers and ambassadors in the related fields to align on standards and best practices for creating content

• Support, build and develop the Programmes and Outreach team and be responsible for the team

• Conceptualise, develop, coordinate and assess feasibility where necessary, for all awareness and advocacy events and activities, including logistics, implementation, resource allocation and budget planning

• Consolidate event feedback to assess impact, process efficiencies and optimal use of resources

• Generate reports with key attributes to assess budget, reach and outcomes. Present the report findings to the Board as and when necessary

• Recruit, manage and train volunteers where required

• Oversee and support the Youth Team

• Explore and grow new partnerships to promote and improve outreach and all awareness and advocacy activities

• Maintain and nurture excellent relationship management with existing partners and key stakeholders

• Lead/co-lead cross-functional efforts with the Partnerships team with an aim to convey the story and impact to the donors and sponsors

• Work jointly with the Partnerships team to complete grant applications to corporates, foundations and other grant givers for the purpose of ensuring adequate budget and resources to sustain awareness and advocacy initiatives

Communications and CRM

• Maintain and ensure an updated list of all the contacts for partners, schools, sponsors, vendors and service providers to enable import into the CRM database for ready access when required

• Work with the Marketing & Communications team to develop the marketing collaterals for the events and assist with social media outreach

• Maintain clear channels of communication within the team and the organisation
