Hopscotch Expands to Asia!

Asia, we have arrived! Anyone who’s been following our social media lately can’t help but have noticed that we’ve already started work from our Singapore and Hong Kong offices to kickstart our Hopscotch offerings in a whole new region; posting flexible and full-time jobs since the summer and adding more women to our community from across APAC. Well, as of today we’re very excited to announce that we're partnering with several huge organisations to really get things motoring by opening up our Career Comeback programmes to women in the region. Here are the roles on offer - and don't worry if your background isn't spot on, these companies are looking for dedicated women with transferable skills, not an exact match!
Facebook: Singapore - start date early December
Motion: Singapore - start date in January
JOYCE: Hong Kong - start date in December
Style Advisor (Part Time) – 3 months
Beauty Consultant (Part Time) - 3 months
Kantar: Singapore - start date of January 1st
Edelman: Hong Kong - start date of December 3rd
Strategist, Digital – 3 months
With 12 fully paid three to six-month placements on offer
across creative, events, fashion, consultancy, strategy and more, we’ve been supported by
Facebook, Kantar, JOYCE, Edelman, Motion, The British High Commission, Publicis and many more
clients to help professional women across the board find get back on track with
their careers. Having commissioned
research that showed an astounding 98% would actively pursue flexible work
options and with almost 70% attributing a lack of such work as the main cause
of their career issues, it seems we have a huge job to do…and the work has
begun!
So what is a Career Comeback? We originally launched the Career Comeback programme
in the summer of 2017 in the Middle East and it has been a huge success as it
offers clients a way to give women who have been away from work (for whatever
reason!) a route back into their careers, or in some cases an opportunity to
trial a new working direction. The
placements run from three to six months, depending on the client’s needs, and
are genuine, live, paid roles meaning women have a chance to build up their
confidence, skills and network. Though
there is no guarantee of a permanent role within the company at the end of the
term, many do go on to flourish in successful careers having had the
opportunity to gain a foothold back on the ladder.
Facebook’s Jenny Durgan had this to say about the
partnership: “Facebook Creative Shop is launching a Career Comeback programme
in partnership with Hopscotch to help women get jobs in the advertising
industry after being out of work. Whether
they are mums or have just taken some time off, the programme will provide
hands-on training, mentorship and tools for how to best create creative
campaigns for our platforms. This initiative falls under our ‘Back Her
Partnerships’ which aims to help women get back into the industry, rise, and
drive impact across the board.”
You can check out the active positions within each company above, and to apply you’ll need to be a woman living in the city stated as well as having been away from work for 6 months or more.
For those of you not in that situation, remember to keep an eye on our Job Board for flexible and full-time roles across all our locations.
